Your conscious willpower gets overwhelmed when you encounter stress. When you add in side effects like nausea, indigestion, itching, and nightmares, the replacement can seem worse than the habit - and that’s not helpful.  Zyban and Chantix also have relatively low success rates with some dangerous potential side effects.
